The work contains the abstractions of the 16 books by Boris Vian published by zweitausendeins in the late 70s to early 80s. The covers of this beautiful series were designed in part by Art Spiegelman:

The abstractions of the sentences were first grouped into three colour groups (green-cyan, red-yellow, blue-magenta) and this grouping was then divided into four columns by optical selection.
